We moved into the house just one day before I gave birth to our son. We were new to the area and, as you can imagine, there was a lot to learn and new places to enjoy. Our daughter also started school for the first time three days after that so life was incredibly hectic.

The house had always felt like home though - even before we knew we’d been the lucky purchaser. We can’t remember the amount of times we would take a drive over here, pull up on the drive (the house was newly refurbished and empty) and just sit and be. We were full of excitement at what this incredible family home would be like for us and our children to live and make memories in. Little did we know we would be here for over fourteen years!


'Sellers view'

One of many amazing things about the house is that it is so flexible. The dining room used to be the family room, the music room used to be the snug. There are two master bedrooms both of which are wonderfully generous in size, each with their own en suite. We have thoroughly enjoyed how the house has been able to adapt to our needs over the past fourteen years. As our needs grew for more working space we were also able to change the internal garages into office and gym space without having to compromise anything. The carriage driveway allowed us plenty of room to erect the barn style storage which even has a first floor.


'Agents view'

Wow, what more can I say about this beautiful home after the sellers view, you really can tell how loved it is. From knowing the area and property well myself as per my earlier comment this is arguably one of, if not the nicest house on Hyde End Road. The double gated entrance really gives you that feeling of seclusion and as soon as you walk into this fantastic home you get that wow factor.

Not only do you have such spacious bedrooms and versatile living space one of the things I really love is the touch of character throughout, with open brickwork and wooden beams.

The sellers have done a fantastic job with their recent extension into the garage but there is further planning permission to extend to the rear of the property again, giving you even more options when it comes to accommodation.

This really is one beautiful home not to be missed out on and I'm sure the lucky new owners of this home will love it as much as the current sellers, and we do.


'Area View'

Spencers Wood really is the best of both worlds as you are semi-rural yet still benefitting from easy access into Reading and even London quickly from here.

Just a short walk away from the property you have Dobbies Garden Centre, where there is also a local butcher, Sainsbury's mini and soon to be their largest food court. Further up the road will take you into Shinfield Village, offering further amenities including a post office and bus links into Wokingham and Reading town centres.

Spencers Wood also offers some great local amenities, with a brilliant bakery and the village hall now holding a monthly farmers market. Let's not forget all the awesome local green space you have close by, including Langler Mead Nature Reserve, perfect for dog walks.
