Sellers Views – Choctaw Cottage was a commissioned build in 1908 by a family from Minnesota who named it after their local red Indian tribe. It was extended in the 1980s into the very handsome and much admired house it is now, and it’s been a special family home for us and our children.
One of the best things about living here (apart from the spacious rooms and Aga!) is it’s location.

The house overlooks the wonderful Stroud Green – great for exercise, walking the dogs or sports activities. We are approx. 10 mins walk from the train station and town centre, whereas in the other direction takes you the historic and glorious Greenham Common. Newbury Racecourse is also very close by.

Like previous owners, we have formed an emotional attachment to the property. Recently an elderly lady asked to have her photo taken outside the door, just as she had done when she lived here as a small child.

It have been a privilege to live in this iconic and unique house, and we are sorry to leave. We hope the next owners will love this home as much as we have.

Area Views – Stroud Green is less then a mile from Newbury town centre, a thriving market town and an important centre for business and commerce in the region. The town has a large number of high-street shops, cafes, and restaurants, as well as a vibrant arts and cultural scene, with several annual festivals and events taking place throughout the year. Newbury is also home to several green spaces and parks, including, Greeham Common and Victoria Park plus the historic Newbury Racecourse. The town has good transportation links, with fast trains to London and other major cities, and is also easily accessible from the M4 motorway.

Lauren and Ryan’s Views – this property has everything you could need and want. Great size reception rooms, five double bedrooms and pretty much the perfect location. You are far enough out of the town centre where it becomes quiet, but with everything still easily accessible. Fronting on the green is a great advantage, and having Greenham Common a few minutes away is just brilliant.
