The Vendor Says:
When we bought this property, it ticked so many boxes, some of which we would like to share below: Location; It is just a couple of minutes’ walk from Thatcham train station, with the new GWR electric trains whizzing us to London in around 40 minutes via Reading. In the other direction the next station is Newbury Racecourse where we have enjoyed many musical gigs, horse racing and more recently our very own Winter Wonderland. Carry on into Newbury and you have all the trappings of a major town that has benefited from major corporate investments. Our favourite is the Corn Exchange theatre, which hosts many plays, and always a great Christmas Pantomime! Back in Thatcham, our local Co-op and Surgery are literally across the road, and another couple of minutes will get you to the Kennet Leisure center which has an amazing pool/slides with squash courts, tennis courts, a large multi-purpose court (often used for badminton), a gym and more. Carry on walking down that road and within another couple of minutes you have our local Waitrose and Thatcham town centre, with a wide variety of restaurants, to suit every palette. Schools; With two young kids, we wanted to be in the catchment for good schools and from our property you are a very short walk from both Francis Bailey (Primary) and Kennet School (Secondary), both of which are highly rated, with the latter being an Outstanding Academy by Ofsted. Garden/Parking; We wanted a small garden, as that minimises overheads, and is easy to manage whilst still giving us some outside space. Safety; Being on a relatively quiet main road (compared to city roads!) with a parking slot around the back of the house was perfect, as it feels safe without the need for street parking. Asset; You can enjoy living in it or renting it out, as it works well, either way. Finally, we will say this, our home has positive vibes and brought us happiness. Come, have a look, and see if you get the same good feeling, that is comforting, relaxing and puts you at ease.
