Conveyancing solicitors in Brentwood
Brentwood is a small town on the London commuter belt sitting 20 miles north-east of Charing Cross and sitting close to the M25 motorway. Part of the Borough of Brentwood, the town has an estimated population of just under 55,000 as of 2017 and has relations with Brentwood, Tennessee in the United States.
At OneDome, we make the conveyancing process simple and painless by utilising our knowledge and expertise to provide a clever online platform for people all over the UK, including those in Brentwood, who need conveyancing services as either a home buyer or seller.
As you may well know, conveyancing is a necessary process that must be carried out by a qualified professional whenever a property is due to change hands. Often, it is seen as a stressful and confusing process, however, this does not need to be the case. Whilst conveyancing is heavily legal in nature and involves the transfer of a property’s title and, often, the involvement of a mortgage, we keep everything simple—that is why we are recognised as leaders in the conveyancing industry.
When buyers and sellers use OneDome, they benefit from an easy-to-use online platform that allows them to compare the price of vetted conveyancing professionals. If they so wish, buyers and sellers can also use our online facility to send and sign documents with strong encryption, view the expected timeline of a conveyance, and track its status. Typically, with OneDome, the conveyancing process takes eight weeks from beginning to end. We also provide buyers with complimentary completion insurance up to the value of £2,250.
Living in Brentwood
Whilst a Bronze Age axe has been found in Brentwood, it is considered unlikely by historians that Brentwood was settled in during this time as it was mostly covered by the Great Forest. It is the Saxons who are thought to be the area’s earliest settlers.
In more modern history, Brentwood originated as an ancient parish with a population of around 5,000 in 1891. Under the 1894 Local Government Act, Brentwood parish formed part of the Billericay Rural District of Essex. This parish was removed in 1899 and Brentwood became the Brentwood Urban District. In 1993, Brentwood became a borough.
Brentwood is well known for being the home of the likes of Ingatestone Hall—a large Tudor house—and Warley Hospital between 1853 and 2001, a psychiatric hospital. Brentwood is also home of the European headquarters of the Ford Motor Company.
Today, Brentwood is largely suburban but has plenty of rural character with open greenery and spaces laying around the town.
Education-wise, Brentwood has primary and secondary schools that include Brentwood County High School and Becket Keys Church of England School. The borough has no further education colleges or universities.
Brentwood is served by First Essex bus services primarily, however, it has its own railway station—Brentwood railway station—to the south of the town centre that is served by Transport for London Rail. Regular services run to both London and Liverpool, amongst other cities, and in 2019 the line will be integrated with Crossrail, becoming an eastern branch of the Elizabeth Line.
