How does it work?

Our friendly advisers will ask some questions to assess your affordability and clearly explain your options. We get to know you, so we can provide the best recommendation to suit your personal needs.  If you’re happy to proceed, we’ll submit the application on your behalf.

Complete the legal work

Legal work known as conveyancing is undertaken in order to ensure that the property is fit to buy, and a good title is transferred. This includes conducting local authority searches and registering property under your name in the Land Registry.

Exchange, complete and move in

After the initial legal work has been completed, you will exchange contracts with the seller and agree a completion date. After that, you’ll be given the keys and you can move into your new home.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.

Further information: The OneDome HomeBuyer Service covers the cost of mortgage advice and the submission of a mortgage application, conveyancing base legal fees and OneDome’s Property Moving Assistant services. All the upfront costs and disbursements typically chargeable to the home buyer are included. These upfront costs include legal searches and Land Registry fees. All transactions are covered by the OneDome Guarantee which provides cover up to £2,250 in the event the property transaction falls through. The base cost of the HomeBuyer Service is £1,500 +VAT. For a buy and sell transaction, an additional £1,000 +VAT fee will apply. Additional fees may be applicable depending on your circumstances and type of transaction. To qualify for the HomeBuyer Service, customers must satisfy certain mortgage eligibility criteria which will be assessed during the initial call with a Property Moving Assistant. *For a limited promotional period until September 30, 2021, the base cost of the HomeBuyer Service is £999 +VAT – a saving of more than £500 off the standard price of £1,500 +VAT. **Additional fees may be charged for non-standard cases. Your conveyancer will advise you prior to engagement if this is the case.
