Stewartby has an intriguing background as a model village originally built for the workers of the London Brick Company.  Today, it's a popular residential area that's halfway between Bedford and Milton Keynes. It's a convenient location if you commute to either town. With the A1 to the east, it's a popular base for journeys to Letchworth Garden City, Stevenage, and Welwyn Garden City. The M1 at Milton Keynes is the area's other main motorway route.
