Situated on the outskirts of Shanklin Old Village in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and surrounded by farmland, is this gorgeous bungalow. It stands proudly in an elevated position in order to take full advantage of the stunning panoramic rural views from every direction as well as glimpses of the sea through the trees. The property is set very far back from the road with a long drive that rises up to the house and garage. It is bordered by beautifully manicured lawns and hedging, rockeries and a raised circular shrub bed. There is also parking for several cars. Double glazed French doors open into a porch area revealing a frosted glass front door. The wide, L-shaped entrance hall leads to all the rooms including the charming light and bright dual aspect lounge with its large bay window, coal effect gas fire and stone mantel. There is a double bedroom opposite that is currently in use as a study and in fact would make an excellent office as it means business visitors do not need to venture into the private parts of the home. There are two additional dual aspect double bedrooms including the main bedroom with gorgeous views, an en suite shower room and a separate family bathroom. A great feature of this bungalow is the spacious, dual aspect open plan kitchen/dining area that even has enough room for a seating area and is where the family spend much of their time. The kitchen has a new range cooker, a raft of Shaker style units with intergrated washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge freezer and plenty of room for a breakfast table, while the view from the large picture window even makes the washing up a pleasure. There is also space for a good sized dining table. A glazed kitchen door leads to a side patio with access to the large detached garage which has electricity and remote controlled up and over doors, the gardens and a tall wrought iron side gate. Outside, there is a rear paved terrace leading to steps up to a lawn with a border hedge that backs on to fields. There are scented flower beds and a pergola covered terrace that is ideal for al fresco dining and relaxing with friends and family. A mature fig tree adorns the far gravelled corner of the garden and a double wooden side gate gives access to the front of the bungalow.

What the Owner says:

I moved here 15 years ago and have loved living here. My home has everything I could ever wish for. It is peaceful, bright and airy and has wonderful country views all around. I love my garden which is easy to maintain and colourful throughout the year. It is very private and quiet here yet not far from the sea and the town centre. Unfortunately, a change of circumstances means I shall be moving back to the mainland to be nearer my children. There is a lovely community on Church Road and I know I shall miss it.

'Koinonia' is the last property along Church Road and there are neighbours only on one side, so there is great potential to extend the bungalow both outwards and upwards.

Shanklin is a delightful seaside resort which includes the impressive Shanklin beach that was winner of the Beach of the Year Award in the Countryfile Magazine in 2019. The Old Village is charming with its thatched cottages, independent shops, restaurants and pubs, while the Shanklin Theatre provides a variety of professional and amateur shows for evening entertainment. There is a real feeling of community and if you enjoy the ‘great outdoors' there is nothing like a bracing walk with the dog or a cycle ride to Culver Down or Ventnor.
