This property is a fascinating detached L-shaped property that includes plenty of potential and flexible accommodation and is located in the charming village of Yaverland, just north of Sandown. It was converted from farm buildings and is approached via a large gravel driveway, where you can park numerous vehicles, and leads to the double garage and the front door.

A tiled entrance hall opens into the main rooms on the ground floor including the dining area with its wood flooring that flows throughout most of the ground floor. As well as French doors to the terrace there is a very wide archway to the ‘piece de resistance' of this property – the fabulous single storey lounge with its skylights and a wall of floor to ceiling glass doors and windows, exposed roof struts and a brick surround fireplace and log burner.

The well-proportioned and characterful dual aspect kitchen/breakfast room with its central beam and country style units include a built in double oven and microwave as well as space for other appliances. This floor also includes a cloakroom and a double bedroom with an en suite bathroom as well as an integral workshop and storeroom, plus another room with French doors to the garden.

Separate staircases lead to the two double bedrooms on the first floor that include a guest room with an en suite bathroom and the main bedroom with a vaulted ceiling, en suite bathroom and built in cupboards.

Outside there is a charming terrace for al fresco dining and a vast lawn interspersed with trees and shrubs. Beyond the double garage there is also an additional brick built workshop that could always be converted in an office/games room.

What the Owner says:

Our parents lived in this house for about 30 years and were really happy here. They loved the light and bright sitting room and the location and it is only a few hundred yards from the coastline. Yaverland is a charming and friendly village and includes the Yaverland Sailing and Boating Club and the Isle of Wight Zoo, famed for its collection of rescued tigers.

It is only about a five to 10 minute walk to the lovely Sandown Bay and the high street and the station for trains that run between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin. Sandown includes a range of shops, restaurants, schools and its well-known pier. It also hosts a number of annual events including a carnival and the beach won ‘Beach of the Year Award' in the BBC Countryfile Magazine Awards 2019.
