Set on a quiet cul-de-sac, just off Caerphilly Road, you'll find this handsome red brick home. Benefitting from a wonderfully bright and spacious open plan kitchen, the property has been lovingly renovated and extended by the current owners to create a home that retains all the charm and character you'd expect from a property of its age, with all the modern creature comforts you could ask for.

Norton Avenue is located on the outskirts of the popular North Cardiff suburb of Heath. The area has become increasingly popular with families due to the excellent schools, vibrant community and extensive green space and parks. Together with the superb array of independent shops, cafes and other amenities, not forgetting excellent transport links, it's easy see why it's become one of the most sought-after postcodes in Cardiff.

"We only decided to visit the property on a whim and to see what's out there. In fact it, was the only house we viewed. Once we visited we had a very positive feeling and felt excited about the home. There was a lot of potential due to the space available and possibilities to extend. Due to the property being end of terrace we liked that there are only neighbours on one side, and it also meant that there is additional space for parking and to make the garden wider. Although the house has easy access to Caerphilly Road, we liked that the house was very quiet and peaceful and you can barely hear the road."

Stepping inside the entrance hall is bright and welcoming. A large storage cupboard under the stairs is ideal to hide away coats and the perfect place to kick off muddy boots after an autumnal walk around the nearby Heath Park. Slate tiled flooring guides your eye down the length of the hallway, where you treated to glimpses of the beautiful open plan kitchen beyond

The first of 2 reception rooms is located at the front of the property. The warm d?cor and exposed floorboard are instantly welcoming, exuding cosy vibes. A large bay window fitted with plantation style shutters not only add to the character of the room but also allow for easy control of the natural which floods in and fills the space. A log burner stands handsomely in the fireplace, adding to the atmosphere and ideal for those cool autumn evenings ahead. Just add popcorn for the perfect family movie night - if you can agree on a film!

Next, it's time for the jewel in this home's crown - the open plan family kitchen. This impressive space benefits from underfloor heating throughout and has been extended to provide a superb room for the whole family to enjoy. It's often said that the kitchen is the heart of the home and it's certainly true for this property.? Spacious enough to accommodate both seating and dining areas and with patio doors opening directly onto the sunny gardens you'll be playing host every weekend! Built in speakers allow to you set the mood for every occasion, whether it's Pick of the Pops on a lazy Saturday afternoon or a kitchen disco with the girls.

"My favourite room to decorate was the kitchen as we designed the kitchen for our needs and convenience. ?It's so open and light and has been ideal for socialising with friends and family. We have enjoyed many birthdays and Christmas' and the kitchen has always been the central hub for these events."

The magnificent chefs space certainly has the wow factor. The owner, having worked in professional kitchens for many years is familiar with the flow of an efficient kitchen and kept that in mind when designing the space. Fitted with a range of base and wall units, corner pantry and island there's more than enough storage and counter space. The five burner gas hob and two ovens make cooking the Sunday roast a breeze and other mod-cons including instant boiling water tap and in sink waste disposal, save time and help run a tight ship.

A separate utility is a wonderful addition, creating a practical space for laundry and other messy jobs. There's space and plumbing for a washing machine and dryer and ample storage to hide away cleaning product.

A door from the utility opens to the handy downstairs W/C, a must for every family.

Heading upstairs, to the first floor you'll find the first two double bedrooms. Both equally spacious (both accommodating king-size beds) and the front benefitting from a large bay window fitted with the same plantation style shutters as the lounge. A single bedroom is also located on this floor which is currently utilised as a spacious office but would also make a delightful nursery.

The family bathroom is of excellent proportions, easily accommodating both walk in shower and freestanding bath. The neutral d?cor and stylish grey tiles create a relaxing setting, just light a few candles to set the scene for a long soak after a long day.

The loft space has been converted to offer another two double bedrooms, again both accommodating king size beds. There is also a spacious shower room meaning no fights for the bathroom in the morning!

Outside you'll find a well presented, low maintenance garden with ample room to eat, relax and play. The secluded patio is a real suntrap, catching the very last ray of the evening sun before it sets. A large deck stretches across the back of the property, which in the summer months become an extension of the living space and provides the ideal spot for family BBQs and alfresco dining. Raised beds offer you a slice of your very own meadow and are bursting with colour from wild flowers and the hum of bees.

"My favourite part of the garden is the patio with a seating area as it is a sun trap and in the evening it's a lovely place to sit under the outdoor lights with a chimenea. I also adore the garden room as it provides additional space and is fully set up for high speed internet for home working."

Finally, the modern garden room with power, lighting and heating offers another versatile space. The bifold doors make it ideal for relaxing and enjoying the garden in the summer months but it would equally make an excellent office, particularly for someone who is working from home and is craving some separation between home and work life.

"I'll miss the amount of space at no.32 as it's a bit like a Tardis. That and the location as its convenience to Birchgrove, Whitchurch Village and Whitchurch Road. The neighbours are lovely and very friendly. It's mainly a mixture of families or older couples that have lived here for a long time. The cul-de-sac and businesses on the road (Pub, Garage & Locksmith) make the road feel like a small community and feels safe. The pub is the nicest in the area and the landlords are fantastic."?

In summary, this beautiful home offers everything a growing family could want and more. Don't miss out, get in touch today.
