The town is also well served by four supermarkets (including Waitrose), doctors surgeries, dentists etc.

The picturesque Royal Military Canal and the attractive, unspoilt seafront are only a little further and there are a variety of sports and leisure facilities in the vicinity, including two golf courses, bowls, tennis and cricket clubs and the Hotel Imperial Leisure Centre.
