The property

The Meadows was built in the 1960's and has been comprehensively renovated and updated within the last five years by the current owners, who have lived there since 2003.

The main entrance to the house is via the conservatory, which was recently reroofed. This sets the tone for the entire house which is light, bright and airy throughout. The conservatory leads through to the dining room which has beautiful parquet flooring and the staircase rising ahead. To the left, one single door and a double door open into the sitting room creating an open plan feel.

The sitting room, which has the same parquet floor, has a dual aspect with the wall to the southern aspect being entirely glazed. The room has a contemporary fireplace with an electric fire, although there is an original working chimney. To the east side of the house there is a stunning Alexander Lewis kitchen with oak units, granite work surfaces and splash backs, a Belfast sink, a Falcon range cooker, breakfast bar with built in oven and microwave, seating area and French doors. Beyond the kitchen is a cloakroom with a shower.

Upstairs, there are three double bedrooms with the principal bedroom having a dual aspect and a line of fitted cupboards. There is a well-appointed family shower room. To the rear of the house is a 'Bedroom Cabin' which serves as the fourth bedroom.

Outside

The Meadows is approached via the Harborough Road. The approach road is part of the Jurassic Way footpath giving superb access to some wonderful walks. The newly reconditioned, granite stoned, driveway is entered via a double five bar gate which is dog proof. There is a generous parking area to the south and west of the house in front of the garage. The garage building consists of three elements; an office, double garage and single garage. Above the single garage, and accessed via stairs within the single garage, there is a useful loft area.

The garden wraps around the house with a lawn flanked by privet hedges and mature beds to the south with a terrace adjacent to the conservatory, a further seating area to the east and a banked lawn area with mature trees to the north where there are lovely views over open fields to St Helen's Church.

Located just to the south of Market Harborough, Great Oxendon has an excellent gastro pub, The George, Waterloo Cottage Farm Shop, St Helen's Oxendon parish church and a village hall.
