Wobage Cottage located in Lower Lydbrook is a little gem. Much loved for 24 years by the current owners who have said how much they have enjoyed the idyllic location, views from the garden and that the cottage wasn't too isolated, with a shop up the road, pub nearby, yet nestled in an area of outstanding beauty.(AONB) for short.

The cottage is next door to the lovely Cafe Vanille, a charming coffee shop and a definite plus as their cakes are delicious!

Wobage has easy parking at the front and then step up to a sweet area to the front door. Step into the 19 ft sitting room, with feature fire place and good space for a dining table. Stairs to the first floor act as a feature. The kitchen is 11'2 and a good space in which to cook and watch the world go by.

With dishwasher, oven and hob, free standing large fridge freezer (may be included) and then into a handy utility area housing the washer and dryer, with a handy large storage space.

The garden is a generous third of an acre, truly magical and there are steps up to it but once up the views are SPECTACULAR and it really has been carefully planned and thought out to create a peaceful haven with different sections to enjoy. There is a ready HOME OFFICE which is fully fitted out with power, light and WIFI and provides the perfect work setting from home. There is a WC and basin next to the home office, very useful.

An inspiring setting in which to work from. You will be begging to work from home!

Further up the garden is a lovely wooded section with a little path wending through and my feeling is you could run a magical Airbnb. There are steps, created out of the 'old Donkey trail', a track worn down by donkeys who used to deliver bread and milk to the properties up the hill. You would have more visitors then you would know what to do with!

A railway line once spanned the valley. Villagers would light a candle in a jam jar to find their way back home after a night out.Love the olden days..

The views up here are magnificent and breathtaking and you can see the river from here.

Back into the house and on the first floor you have 2 pretty double bedrooms the second having an ensuite shower room, wc and basin and there is a pretty family bathroom. There are skylights on this floor allowing light to flood into the landing.

If you want a wonderful setting, a forever home, love gardening and views, walking, kayaking, relaxing then this is the house for you.

Boiler is a Worcester Bosch, 8 years old and serviced yearly. Mains gas and mains drainage.

We look forward to showing you this gem of a cottage. OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK.

Lower Lydbrook, located in Gloucestershire, is a village steeped in history, particularly known of its past as a centre of the iron industry. You will find a blend of natural beauty, with its location alongside the Wye River and Lyd Brook and historical remnants of its past. Today it offers a tranquil environment, ideal for those seeking a peaceful retreat in the countryside.

Archaeological excavations have uncovered Roman coins and other artefacts in the area.

For those who like kayaking and the outdoors, the River Wye and Lower Lydbrook Park are directly across the road with families enjoying paddling and swimming in the river with deep and shallow spots, fast and slow patches.

Cafe Vanilla of Lydbrook is next door to the house. I sampled their delicious cakes and Boris my dog had a dog ice cream as it was so hot that day! They are a peaceful cafe and anyone having them next door is lucky. The owner is Canadian and just thinks this spot is magical.

Further up the B423 is to my delight, a pub called the Forge Hammer Inn, cakes and a pub, tick.

There are wonderful walks in every direction and we recommend the Wye Valley Walk to immerse and enjoy this area of Outstanding Beauty, dog walks are boundless. Ideal area for keen cyclists too. For those with children or grandchildren enjoy Go Ape, Kingfisher River cruises or the Butterfly zoo.

There is a handy Premier store, which offers warm bread, pastries and everything you could need plus a Post Office counter and also a Doctors surgery close by.
