The Sellers View

I’ve spent eight happy years living in Sherwood House. I fell in love with the bay window on the first viewing and never looked back. The flat gets plenty of natural light, and the storage is really handy as I'm a little bit of a hoarder! Wifi is super fast and I work from home a lot of the time.

The location is great - the local chippy is top rated and it’s really handy having a couple of shops including a post office, and a pharmacy there too. I plod around the recreation ground when I fancy a jog, and it’s not far to walk down the river Kennet (to the Cunning Man pub!) either. The buses into town are pretty frequent and it’s only a 20 minute walk to the Oracle too. It's definitely walk-able back after a night out in town if the taxi queue is too long.

The neighbours have always been great - there’s a good mix with families and young couples and no idiots. I've always felt really secure and safe here.

So why am I going? It’s time for a new pace of life for me, and I want to be a bit closer to my dad. I also need a new challenge - I’ve done as much as I can for this flat and it’s time to hand it over to someone else. I hope you love it as much as I have!

The Agents View

Rembrandt Way is the perfect location if you like peace and quiet, but you also want to be close to the hustle and bustle of Reading town centre. Sherwood House is only a small block of apartments and there are only 6 that share this communal entrance.

The seller has updated and kept this property to a wonderful standard throughout. As you enter the apartment you are met with a clean and modern hallway which has doors leading to all rooms. The master bedroom is a reasonable size double room. Bedroom two has a full wall of built in storage as the seller only ever planned to use this room as a study, come walk in wardrobe. If you were to remove the wardrobes, you would easily accommodate a double bed. The bathroom has been refitted to a really high standard in the last couple of years, with neutral tiles and a modern white suite. Honestly, it looks like it was changed a few months ago. The kitchen was fitted approx 13 years ago but it has a really modern feel about it, the seller updated the flooring a few years ago too.

By far, my favourite room in this property is the reception room with huge bay window. This is a really light room due to all of the windows. It's such a comfortable size that you can easily have a living and dining area without it feeling cramped at all. I love the built-in bay window seating that the seller had put in. Not only does it extend your seating area for when you have friends or family over, but it also provides extra storage too. To top it all off, this room as underfloor heating, so no longer will heaters dictate where you position your furniture!

Outside there is an allocated parking space. If you have a second car or visitors, there is plenty of space to park on the road as the property is far enough from the town centre that it isn't parking controlled. Around the back of the development is a small communal garden.

The Area View

Sherwood House is located only a short walk from Holy Brook, the River Kennet and meadows, so there are plenty of places to go walking or cycling if you like to be outdoors. There are local shops nearby if you need a few items but you also have a choice of multiple supermarkets for the "big shop" which are around a 10 minute drive from the property. Reading town centre is just under a mile away and takes the seller about 20 minutes to walk into town. Reading is full of great restaurants and bars which cater for all tastes. If you enjoy a bit of retails therapy, it wont disappoint here either! If you need to use trains, Reading & Reading West stations are around a 30 minute walk away and Junction 11 of the M4 is about a 13 minute drive away.
