An exceptional Grade II listed detached cottage pleasantly situated in this highly regarded Oxfordshire village, purported to be one of South Oxfordshire’s oldest residential buildings.

Having been tastefully and sympathetically modernised in 2019, Cruck cottage retains a wealth of period features, with exposed beams, wooden flooring and two brick fireplaces, combined with well-appointed living space.

It incorporates a cloakroom, impressive sitting room/dining room with part vaulted ceiling, leading to the kitchen with integrated appliances and wooden worktops, in addition to a cosy living room which adds a degree of versatility to the accommodation.

The first floor is accessed via two separate staircases, with three good sized bedrooms, and attractive family bathroom complete with roll-top bath.

Outside pretty, well-stocked gardens complement the cottage with the advantage of a garage and driveway.

This is a rare opportunity to become the custodian, of a quintessentially English cottage, that Pevsner’s Architectural guide describes as an ‘exemplar cruck cottage of significant historical significance’, enjoying all an authentic village has to offer as a way of life away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Council Tax: Band E: £2797.

Owners Comment

Cruck Cottage was our first house and the perfect place to call home. Surrounded by beautiful scenery yet in the heart of a thriving village with easy access to local towns and villages offering a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants. We've enjoyed all the benefits of rural living with easy access to Oxford and London. We have very fond memories of our time here, summer swims in the river, muddy winter walks and drinks in the Plough! We'll be sad to say goodbye to a very active, sociable village, great pub and fantastic friends’
