The words Assisted Living' are exactly that, the independence of a loved one is maintained, yet there is extra support for residents to enjoy life without worry. For our mother, it was a big relief that the whole complex was organised for her, all mum had to do was enjoy life. The garden was a tremendous hobby, in the summer Mum was out there every day. The social side of Darwin Court is wonderful, one could never be lonely there, and the residents are such a welcoming group of people. Mum enjoyed having lunch in the dining room every day and often went for tea or coffee morning and afternoon. The bingo nights, fish & chip quiz nights were great fun, and the carpet bowling helped to keep Mum fit. Now to the staff who work there, kindness and smiling are the words that spring to mind, nothing is too much trouble, day and night there is someone who can deal with a crisis safely, that was a very reassuring part for us as a family.
