Chelsbourne stands in one of the most beautiful rural locations close to Ashford. Set at the foot of the North Downs, Chelsbourne is in an enchanting garden setting with a meandering brook running through the grounds.
On entering the drive one is immediately transported back into times past with the ancient house and barn standing sentinel in an unchanged rural landscape.

Facing each other the two buildings form an ideal marriage of architectural styles ? each complementing the other.

The Grade II listed house offers a welcoming and timeless quality. The entrance vestibule leads in to the beautiful family kitchen ? hand crafted and centred around a central granite covered island unit. This is a bright double aspect room with plenty of space for a table and chairs for informal family entertaining. Off the kitchen is a generous utility/boot room and a cloakroom.

To the right of the vestibule is the lovely beamed dining room with a deep brick inglenook fireplace. This room enjoys views over both the front and rear gardens. A door from here leads thorugh to the elegant drawing room. With windows on three aspects the room is flooded with light and is generously proportioned. A dragon beam in one corner is evidence of the original medieval hall house.

Upstairs there is much evidence of the original beams in the three double bedrooms. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom and the family bathroom is accessed off the end landing via an occasional fourth bedroom.

The Barn
The barn, also listed, is a unique building very little altered since its construction. It has a wonderful "cathedral like" atmosphere with mellow honey coloured beams and a double height cart entrance. There is a Yorkstone and herringbone brick floor. At right angles - and adjoining the barn - is a further range of single storey period buildings.

Chelsbourne is situated in an Area of outstanding Natural Beauty at the foot of the North Downs and just north of the hamlet of Brook close to Wye, an attractive and well served village with good local amenities. More comprehensive facilities are offered by Ashford and Canterbury, with their excellent shopping centres, choice of schools and recreational opportunities.

Wye station is on the main line to London with access to the High Speed trains to London St Pancras from Ashford International (from 36 minutes). Eurostar services from Ashford International run to the Continent and there is easy access via the M20 (Junction 10 the M20 (4 miles) to the Port of Dover and the Eurotunnel at Cheriton.

The garden is a wonderful setting for the house and barn with a meandering spring fed brook winding its way through from one end of the garden to the other.

Informal planting and topiary hedges add structure and interest. A lovely secluded corner of the garden bounded by a ragstone wall houses the swimming pool.

Beyond the gardens are two useful paddocks with a range of older stables.
